Marty: who was diagnosed with H1N1 which has run it's course but now is struggling with double pnemonia. He is in ICU on a ventilator. Please pray that his numbers (sat rate) and lung function start to improve. (COPD Prayer)

Tuesday Update: They are checking Marty for a bacterial infection.

Georgia: is struggling with a rare lung disease...ILD in addition to asthma. (COPD Prayer). She is also dealing with great pain throughout her body especially in her hands. Please pray for complete healing of this bodily pain.

Brittany: Pray for her as she heads with her Mom to Mayo Clinic. Pray that the doctor's will have the wisdom of God in determining her health condition and treatments. Traveling mercies as they come back to Indiana.

Robert: has had multiple seizures in the last few days. Please pray that doctor's will be able to pinpoint the cause of these seizures & that treatments will alleviate this problem. May God heal him from head to toe!!

Dan: is hospitalized for the possibility of appendicitis & surgery to remove it. Pray also for financial provision for this surgery.

Update: he was taken into surgery and his appendix was removed but not the problem...he was diagnosed with meckel's diverticulitis. They had to remove part of his bowel and reconnect it. It was a longer more complicted surgery than expected. He will spend the next couple of days in the hospital.

Jennifer: for a healthy pregnancy and controlled blood pressure, easy delivery around February 4 and a happy healthy baby.

Gwen: who is having surgery tomorrow (Wednesday) to repair leaky heart valves. If they cannot be repaired she will need replacement valves which will include open heart surgery. Please pray that the valves will be able to be repaired and that the doctor's will be able to make the repairs quickly. (HEART PRAYER)

PRAYERTIME TUESDAY

Dominick: has had successful open heart surgery for the removal of a rare tumor...he also DID NOT need a valve replacement....he continues as a patient at Loyola...please pray against these symptoms of heart surgery....pain at incision site, anxiety, sleeplessness at night. His doctor completed the surgery in less than half the time expected...which is such a plus because Dom was not on the heart/lung machine for very long...which means it was easier on his own systems to begin functioning again.
Baby Grayson: still in need of gallbladder surgery. His surgeon & pediatrician can not come to an agreement as to whether he is healthy enough to tolerate the surgery. He also has a heart condition which increases the risk, however because his gallbladder is packed with stones the risk of pancreatitis is great. He has been spitting up bile and is having abmornal BM's. The gallbladder px is due to special feeding he had to receive through an IV or other possible stomach tube while in the hospital at about 6 weeks old. PLEASE pray that the Lord will lead the doctor's in the right treatments for Grayson so that his body can begin to function normally.

Dominick:
Updated: Has just completed pre-surgical testing for his open heart surgery on Monday, September 28...at Loyola....the Dr. has decided to wave his fee's for this surgery.....PRAISE GOD, the Provider!!!

UPDATED: We have just finished the consultation with Dr. Bakhos of Loyola......where open heart surgery for Dominick is scheduled for Monday, September 28 at 5:15AM....Here is our prayer request: Dr. Bakhos is going to look at all of the testing that Dominick has had done and make a determination whether or not he could possibly do this surgery through the side instead of cracking the chest bone....Recovery time would be cut in at least 1/2.....Thank you for your prayers for this request and as we have always said..."WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE!"

Dominick is the 27 year old boyfriend of my daughter, Karissa for the past 2 years....they will be celebrating this milestone of dating on August 28, 2009 at my son, Justin's wedding.
In the Fall of 2008 during a routine health physical there was found a rare heart tumor in his left ventricle. This began the long process of tests, hospitals, doctors, specialists and concern. Dr. Bakhos of Loyola Hospital has determined that Dominick will need open heart surgery because on the T.E.E. that was done on Monday, he has found that there is significant growth of this tumor.

The consult for this surgery is scheduled for Friday, August 21 at 6:30AM...and the surgery will be scheduled sometime in September. This family is reeling as we were confident that this tumor would not need surgery.

Here is the diagnosis from the Fall of 2008......8mm x 9mm lesion (LIPOMA... fatty, benign tumor) within the left ventricle attached to the myocardium and the apical lateral wall...this is very rarely found on the heart and the cardiologist is researching other WORLDWIDE cases as to the best possible treatment for Dominick...

PRAYERTIME TUESDAY

Vern: Please pray for him as he will undergo lower back fusion surgery Monday August 3 at Baptist Hospital in Miami. They will scrape out some arthritis, slipped disk, and some bone that is rubbing on nerves, sending shooting pains down his legs. He will have some of his lumbar spine screwed to a little cage to stabilize and strengthen the lower back. This will be a 5 hour surgery and we are hoping he will be released from the hospital on Friday.

Grayson: a six month old baby boy....needing gall bladder surgery!!! Poor thing...please lift him up and we will keep you posted!


Georgia: is having a new treatment (infusion) for her disease-occular cicatricial pemphigoid (ocp). It is Rituxan. The treatment like all of hers is experimental, because there is no treatment for OCP as it is a very rare auto immune disease.
Please pray that all goes well with the treatment and the side affects do not cause any more health problems or exacerbate the ones she already has. Please also pray for a miracle of complete healing!
Update: Another treatment on Wednesday, July 1.


17 year old Ben of St. Paul. MN...is suffering from 2nd degree burns to his face and 3rd degree burns from his neck to his shins....because of a bonfire accident. He is on a ventilator, feeding tube and in a medically induced coma. Pray also for the friend who is responsible for causing this accident.

Tori's Grandfather, Frank: he is bleeding internally. Please pray the doctor's
are able to find the source of the problem and be able to treat him. He lives in Tennessee and is hospitalized there.
UPDATE: the bleeding has been found in the colon....he has been treated and sent home!!!

PRAYERTIME TUESDAY

Anthony: a 4 year old little boy who was attacked by a dog to the right hand....he is hospitalized and the doctor's are concerned about a blood or bone infection. Please pray also for the pain and swelling to this little one's hand...he is absolutely OUT OF SORTS
Update: Anthony has been released from the hospital. He is still taking antibiotics because of possible infection because of the dog teeth punctures and he needs to follow up with the doctor in a few days. He is bandaged and the swelling has gone down a little. Please pray for complete healing.

HELEN: WHO WILL BE HAVING A BONE DENSITY TEST ON MONDAY...PRAY THAT THE REPORT IS FAVORABLE AND THAT HER BONES ARE HEALTHY.


Baby Micah: Praise You God !! for great test results for baby Micah!!! The oncologist said they came back “clear” and that “all indicators point to no more cancer”!!!!

PRAYERTIME TUESDAY

Pastor Gerry: went to the hospital last night with chest
pain. He is submitting to all kinds of tests--failed his stress
test, so he's having an angiogram tomorrow (Monday).  Pray
that there's nothing seriously wrong and that he doesn't
need an angioplasty.
Update: Pastor Gerry's heart can be treated with medication...
Praise the Lord for this wonderful report!

Baby Micah: Who is 5 mos old. has been having problems breathing while sleeping for about 2 months. Today they did a CT of his lungs and have found a mass. The radiologist is pretty sure it is some form of pediatric cancer. Please pray for the parents, Seth and Melinda and brother, Noah. Seth is in Seminary. This family lives in St. Louis.

UPDATE:Micah came through surgery well. He was able to be
removed from the respirator without incident.They removed
a golf ball sized tumor. They removed all of the tumor and the
diagnosis is Neuroblastoma.This means he will be back at the
hospital next week for more scans, sedation etc.

Please continue to lift this family up and the doctor's to
have godly wisdom in the treatment of this sweet child.

Adelle: is dealing with a brain aneurysm which will have to be removed surgically. They have also found a brain tumor and bulging disks in her back. She will be having an MRI on Monday, April 20, 2009 to determine her future treatments/surgeries.
Update: We need to pray for 2 major things:
1) for the aneurysm to NOT burst
2) for the aneurysm and tumor to NOT grow.

Diane and Rick: are also dealing with infertility struggles. Please keep this dear couple from Indiana in your prayers as they walk through God's plan for their lives in this area.

PRAYERTIME TUESDAY

Dominick: Is meeting his new team of doc's from Loyola tomorrow at 6:30AM....please pray for those doctor's to have the wisdom of God to know what to do with Dominick and his rare heart tumor.
GOD IS SO GOOD!!!
Dr. Bakhos has told Dominick that this heart tumor is rare but that it is a lipoma (fatty tumor) and not cancerous...he wants Dominick to resume his normal life and that he needs to have another T.E.E in August of this year...to determine if this tumor is growing.....if so...he will have to remove it at that time....We would ask you to continue in prayer for Dominick to be able to get his jobs back and to be able to COBRA his insurance...and to become financially stable again....WE THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF ALL OF OUR HEARTS FOR YOUR PRAYERS....To God be all the glory...great things He has done!!

Kelly: is pregnant and has been diagnosed with a subchorionic hemorrhage, which is a blood clot between the placenta and the uterus. Please pray for complete healing and for Kelly to bring this baby to term with an uncomplicated and easy delivery.

Joan: pray for her damaged achillies tendon and that she can get testing done and be seen by an ortho in the very near future.
She is home but did this in Guatemala on her mission trip!!!
Update: Joan needs surgery next week to repair the tendon.
2nd Update: Joan is in a walking cast after surgery.

Dominick Update

Today...Dominick is waiting for a call from Loyola Medical Center for an appointment with one of the cardiologists on staff there....please pray that they will be able to get him in as soon as possible as the schedule is booked until the middle of April......and please pray that Dominick will get through the mountains of paperwork and questions that are being asked of him...like childhood health problems and acquiring health records...his originals are all lost.

Praise the Lord.....Dominick got a call today (WEDNESDAY) from Loyola and the staff of Dr. Bakhos in cardiology....who has looked at some of Dominick's records and wants him in on NEXT TUESDAY AT 6:30 AM!!!!
And we have been able to acquire most of the records, except those from 25 years ago from Children's Memorial (the doctor who worked with Dominick way back then, Dr. Tomita....is still practicing there)....God is making a way to obtain those records also...WAY TO GO GOD!!!

We thank you in advance for your continued prayer support for Dominick's health, his spirits and financial situation!!

Update

Today...Dominick met with his team of doctor's who have suggested doing NOTHING...except Dominick is having some symptoms...so he is wearing a 24 Holter Monitor to check the function of his heart. He has been instructed by his general physician to get a second opinion and he is either going to Northwestern or Loyola for that. He is also trying to meet with a financial counselor at church to help walk him through this next season of life...since he lost both jobs and the insurance company is trying to deny claims and is saying that this was a pre-existing condition. Thank you for your continued prayers during this very difficult time.

Update: The doctor's still do not know what to do with Dominick and this lipoma on the heart...hopefully we will have an answer on Monday, March 2, 2009...when Dominick is scheduled to meet with the team of doctors...THIS MEETING WAS CANCELLED BY THE DOC'S...PLEASE PRAY FOR A REFERALL TO ANOTHER DOCTOR...ASAP....DOM IS STRESSING...please pray God's wisdom and knowledge for where to go from here.

Dominick Update #2

Dominick Update

Update: Monday, February 9.....Dominick was told today by Northwestern Hospital that the $3000.00....two hour MRI of his heart that was taken last week is not clear enough for the doctor's to read and determine future treatment of the tumor....So next Monday, February 16th....he will head again to Northwestern Hospital for another MRI...of the heart....What a discouraging mess...and this puts most of his working on hold...AS OF WEDNESDAY 02/11/09 HIS EMPLOYER HAS LET HIM GO....WHICH MEANS HE MAY ONLY HAVE HIS INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR 30 DAYS....Please pray that the Lord would heal Dominick's heart of all problems...so that he can go onto leading the normal life of a 26 year old...Pray also against discouragement and for Dominick to not focus on his circumstances but look to the God to meet all his needs....

This is a post to update on Dominick, my daughter Karissa's boyfriend of over a year.......
Dominick had his heart MRI to get a better idea about the heart tumor he has...the two hour test was done at Northwestern Hospital in Chicago TODAY...the test results and readings will be at his cardiologist's office by Monday...Dominick has an appointment scheduled on Monday to find out where we go from here...

The kind of tumor that he has is called a myxoma.....normally this kind of tumor is sitting on a kind of pedestal...like a golf ball on a golf tee...and Dominick's is not....the cardiologist thinks right now that Dominick may have born with this......Please pray for the MRI to give a clear picture of how this is to be dealt with...and pray the doctor has the skill, wisdom, understanding and knowledge to preform this operation...I have already asked some of you for prayer for financial provision for this necessary medical care that Dominick is going to be having...and I would ask that you continue with that prayer....also that Dominick have peace that only the Lord can give during this difficult season of his life...Please pray that Karissa stay strong and is able to communicate in a loving way to Dominick's family during this process. (HEART PRAYER)

Update:
Dominick has just be "let go" from his second job as they were concerned of the liability of Dominick and his heart tumor...Please pray for him to be encouraged as to how much the Lord loves him and will take care of him and provide for him...Please also pray that the hospital's (Ingalls and Northwestern) that Dominick has been treated or tested at will be gracious and merciful and extend to him a financial release from the large medical bills that will be incurred due to a heart tumor and possible surgery.
